I think many of us struggle with finding happiness and joy. We struggle to find it, and if you’re anything like me, you struggle to keep it.
This blog is dedicated to the on-going and emerging research I’ve been accumulating over the years. I have no credentials, no letters after my name. I only posses a deep yearning for that seemingly elusive peace one gets from being joyful.
I’m sorry to say that I haven’t reached a means to that end…yet. Am I closer to answers than I was 20 years ago? Absolutely.
Over time I’ve delved into religion, meditation, medications, research chemicals, illicit drugs, alcohol, fitness, nutrition, cognitive behavioral therapy (and its many forms), breathing, yoga, and…well you get the idea. In all of my studies and mentoring I find that many, if not all, of these things work to some degree. However, one thing that has been severely lacking on my part is consistency. I have a bit of ADD when it comes to research. I bounce around from interest to interest without ever really fully committing to any of them.
Well my friends, that’s all about to change. This blog will be a place to post what I’m currently doing in terms of physical and mental health, as well as any research I come across to justify my actions and educate readers looking to optimize their lives.
Caveat:
I will do my best to give credit where credit is due. 99% of the information I share will be the thoughts and hard work of others. Having said that, I will do my best to inform the readers of where my opinions and applications of the data begin and end. This whole journey is a process of trial and error for me, so please be prepared to extend a bit of grace in the areas mentioned.
